Today sees the start of Seker or Sugar Bayram - which marks the end of the Ramadan fasting so big celebrations are afoot across the island.
Please note that this also means that all public buildings and offices, including banks are closed - they re open on Thursday and are then are again closed on Friday for the equivalent of Labour Day.
